Google’s Parent Company Alphabet To Lay Off 12,000 Jobs

Google’s parent company, Alphabet, has announced that it will lay off 12,000 jobs, roughly 6% of the global workforce. According to the news reported by AFP, layoffs among tech giants Alphabet were also added. Alphabet, the parent company of Google, announced that it will lay off 12,000 people from offices around the world.

“We take full responsibility for the decisions that brought us here,” Google CEO Sundar Pichai said in an email to employees today, stating that the layoffs will affect all businesses globally. The company, which has many services, including the video platform Youtube, the e-mail service Gmail, and the search engine Google, has been seriously affected by the slowdown in digital advertising recently.
